A very surprising list of the top 23 most advanced countries in the world according to a survey from the Human Development Report. The survey seems to rank countries based mostly on life expectancy/health, schooling and national income per capita. Here are the top 5:

1. Norway
2. Australia
3. New Zealand
4. United States
5. Ireland

In previous years, the United States did not rank in the top 10 but was recently granted the number four spot for its higher per capita income.
