How many of these candies were part of your childhood?
Props to dumbfoundead for bringing up Pelon Pelo Rico (3:02), a tamarind push-pop type candy and Lucas (3:54), some kind of Mexican crack seasoning that I’d sprinkle heavily over oranges/my hand/whatever.

In the living room is an original art piece by Hiroshi Senju painted on-site. Most of the furniture in the home is custom designed by Ceccotti Collezioni, as well as Italian imported stone and wood used for many of the walls, flooring, and doors.
The Japanese “Ryotei” style dining room is designed specifically for dinner parties where the chef can serve the guests directly from the gourmet kitchen. There is also a separate casual dining room with the Parisian-style terrace overlooking the peaceful Arisugawa Park. The bright and cheerful eat-in kitchen is fitted with all La Cornue appliances.

If not, how are you keeping up with my latest obsession with green smoothies?! Healthy, tasty, and perhaps is the easiest way to consume a ton of veggies and fruits in one sitting.
Here are some of my creations this week from my Twitter feed:
- 14oz water, 1 avocado, 1 red medium apple, 1.5 cups of pineapple, 1 cup of strawberries, 1 large carrot, 1 medium tomato, 3 cups red leaf lettuce
- 6oz coconut milk, lots of coconut water, 1 avocado, 1 banana, 1 mango, 2 cups arugula, 1.5 cups romaine lettuce
- 6oz water, 2 small apples, 1 banana, 6 medium strawberries, 1 medium carrot, 1 medium tomato, 1 cup watercress nut
- 16oz water, 3 small apples, 2 medium carrots, 3 cups watercress nut
- coconut water, 1 cup papaya, 1 banana, 1.5 cup strawberries, 1 medium carrot, 2 cups red leaf lettuce
Some tips:
- Avocados, bananas, and mangoes are a great way to improve the creaminess of the smoothie.
- For your “base fruit”, I find that bananas, apples, and pineapples add the most flavor to mask the taste of your greens (I’m still experimenting to see what fruits work the best).
- Always add your liquids first, then fruit, and greens last.
- Generally a 60-40 ratio of fruits to veggies makes a good green smoothie.
Right now most of my time is spent with prep and blending, though I think if I had a powerful blender (like a Blendtec) I could cut my time in half and make smoothies of ultra-smooth consistency. Will keep an eye out for deals on this sucker.
