Reposting one of my more popular posts to tell you that you can now follow me on Pinterest!

Sidenote: If this pin (or this pin)gets repinned enough times by May 14 I can win a Blendtec Blender so I can do some serious smoothie/food recipe experimentation for you guys. Who’s down to help a brotha win?!

(But I still won’t like bananas)

Are you following @myobsessionist?

If not, how are you keeping up with my latest obsession with green smoothies?! Healthy, tasty, and perhaps is the easiest way to consume a ton of veggies and fruits in one sitting.

Here are some of my creations this week from my Twitter feed:

Some tips:

  1. Avocados, bananas, and mangoes are a great way to improve the creaminess of the smoothie.
  2. For your “base fruit”, I find that bananas, apples, and pineapples add the most flavor to mask the taste of your greens (I’m still experimenting to see what fruits work the best).
  3. Always add your liquids first, then fruit, and greens last.
  4. Generally a 60-40 ratio of fruits to veggies makes a good green smoothie.

Right now most of my time is spent with prep and blending, though I think if I had a powerful blender (like a Blendtec) I could cut my time in half and make smoothies of ultra-smooth consistency. Will keep an eye out for deals on this sucker.
